City Day

Its illustrations vibrant and cartoonish, this story begins in a forest area that’s gone quiet at summer’s end. The woodland creatures, who miss their human “friends” and the fun chaos that they bring, decide to return the favor of their seasonal company. They set out for the city, where they mimic the human behaviors they’ve witnessed—drinking coffee, leaving messes, and playing hide-and-seek. It’s a delightful comedy of errors, fed by communication barriers that are hard, but not impossible, to bridge.
