Foreword Review — July / Aug 2009
“The woman poet exists in fact and must sing, just as birds fly and rivers flow” wrote Carolina Coronado, one of the poets whose work is covered in An Anthology of Nineteenth-Century Womens Poetry from Spain (978-1-60329-028-9). Translated into English and edited by Anna-Marie Aldaz, this is the latest volume in the Modern Language Association’s Texts and Translations series. Also see An Anthology of Nineteenth-Century Women’s Poetry from France (978-1-60329-029-6), edited by Gretchen Schultz. These volumes fill in our knowledge of women writers at key times in these countries poetic traditions.
