Still Friends

In this punny picture book about lessons learned from a passive friend, a canine is befuddled by the girl he sees at the park each day, immobile on a bench as the world moves around her. She seems as indifferent to him as she is to the weather and other passersby. This makes him harrumph at first, but then prompts him to muse about the benefits of her constancy. Sweet thoughts on mutual acceptance cap this warm story, whose detailed colored pencil illustrations capture not only the dog’s adventures, but the bustling life of the park across the changing seasons.
