Monkeys on a Fast

A laugh-out-loud book with goofy illustrations, this adaptation of a Buddhist story introduces fasting and meditation, and hints on how to analyze a story. The rotund primates trick their chief into allowing them to eat during their fast, suggesting that fasting is meant for cleansing the mind, not for weight loss. Children will grow to love the zany monkeys as their mischief ensues. Ages five and up.
