Going Home with Dad
Anthropomorphized mice—a father and his child–go on an observational adventure in this sweet picture book about how all creatures and elements work their ways back home. The young mouse is eager to come along when their father says “we’re going out,” variously following and leading as they encounter traipsing ants, hot air balloons and bees floating and flying above, and a bridge over a winding stream. The soft watercolor-and-ink illustrations simultaneously honor the allure of the wild and the warmth of home, to which the young mouse is equally eager to return.
