Tales from the Seventh Sea

Reviewed by

This gorgeous collection of twenty-five sea-based comics has something for everyone: pirates, selkies, aliens, talking fish, lighthouse tenders, and sea monsters. The stories in Waterlogged: Tales from the Seventh Sea range from the humorous—a beaver with amnesia meets a talking fish with a treasure map—to the intense—a feud escalates between two competing whale-watching companies—to the philosophical—a family struggles with their grief after the loss of their beloved patriarch. All are wonderfully imaginative, often fantastical, and feature an incredibly diverse cast. The diverse art styles and brevity of the comics make this a compelling and fast read. This is a book you’ll want to buy so you can read through it again and again.
