Manifest the Life of Your Dreams

Clarion Rating: 3 out of 5

Via Wonderment is an imagination-piquing self-help guide that encourages making a conscious effort to take note of the beauty and joy that are encountered every day.

Kat Gottlieb’s Via Wonderment is an actionable guide to manifestation, working with the law of attraction, and creating a life full of wonder.

Prompting audiences to find vibrancy, joy, connections with the universe, and the fulfillment of realizing long-held dreams, this self-help manifesto encourages shifting gears and making a conscious effort to take note of the wonder, beauty, and joy encountered every day. It addresses the seven principles of the law of attraction in depth, with examples and actionable steps for implementing each. Moving between imparting wisdom and providing space to dream about one’s desired life, it discusses how like attracts like, asserting that positive thoughts lead to more positive thoughts, more wondrous experiences, and the ability to enjoy wealth, health, and happiness. Some of its explanations, as with those about the lenses through which the world is filtered, are oversimplified, though.

The book’s tone is light and hopeful, and its words are presented against colorful backdrops with marvelous details. In one, a butterfly makes its way to the moon, wings trailing behind it like auroras; elsewhere, airy floral scenes burst with color. Some motifs recur in the illustrations, as with a nautilus shell superimposed with the golden ratio to complement periodic reminders to stay curious about life and be open to new experiences and experiments in wonder.

Still, depth is sacrificed to breadth in this text. It covers a wide range of topics related to the law of attraction. Often, it feels more like an introductory text than a comprehensive guide to manifestation. Its prose is gentle and welcoming, though. It tours the principles of the law of attraction with speed, dropping in practical techniques and leading questions along the way. The questions are quite varied, too, ranging from thoughts on life in other galaxies to the miracle of birth. Some pages are devoted to journaling prompts, too.

The chapters end with prompts for implementing their manifestation principles, one change at a time. Some are quite open-ended, like “If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?” Audiences are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild through these queries, which are charming and expansive, if inconclusive.

The illustrative self-help book Via Wonderment introduces the law of attraction via an array of prompts and techniques for manifesting one’s aspirations.
