The Passover Pet Surprise
Jordanita travels to warm Argentina for Pesach, where she is delighted by her extended family’s pets, including their dogs, a cat, a tortoise, and two birds. At the Seder, the traditional Haggadah lessons unfold against a glowing family background, though Jordanita takes the notion of “freedom” a bit too far at the birdcage. Intermingled Spanish and English terms, and Spanish translations of the animals’ names, add an educational element to this bubbly picture book, whose bright-colored illustrations with funny facial features for animals and people alike are a multicultural feast for the eyes.
