The Bedtime Music Book
In this interactive, rhyming picture book that plays snippets of classical music from composers including Gustav Holst, Johannes Brahms, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as it goes, a big mouse family in a cozy, tchotchke-packed den prepares for bedtime. The mouselets are reluctant at first, but they go through the rhythms of bath time and story time nonetheless, making each fun. Soon, in the starlight, “Mama hums a lullaby, a tender tune from times gone by,” and little eyes close. The illustrations are a visual feast, filled with details that reward close consideration; their switch to lights-off time is charming.
