Sunny and Stormy

In this peppy picture book about the necessity of balance, both in nature and in relationships, two sisters’ magic directs the weather in the village below them. Stormy feels underappreciated, though: the villagers love her sister’s sun and warmth, but they only complain when Stormy’s rainy, cooling influence dominates. Wounded, Stormy departs—after which the villagers realize that her contributions were quite essential to the harmony of their town. The bright illustrations are dominated by rainbow colors in electric hues that exist in striking contrast to Stormy’s moody blues, purples, and grays.
