Pig Dreams
A portly pink pig wonders why it is that children always call on sheep for help when they can’t get to sleep, rather than inquisitive, happy, sometimes stubborn pigs. Though a smug sheep tells him that pigs aren’t qualified for such nocturnal assistance, he’s determined to help children toward dreams. He rallies his community, and they come up with creative ways to claim attention, but being counted on is not all they imagined it to be. Funny details in the illustrations, which alternate between night and day scenes, make this picture book about self-acceptance memorable.
