One Can
A classroom call to help those in need piques a child’s excitement and leads to self-realizations in the bittersweet picture book One Can. After helping their class hit its goal of collecting one hundred cans for those with food insecurity, the child is sobered to see their can make its way back home. They have a hard conversation with their mother, but remain generous to their core. Textured illustrations in warm pastels complement this moving story about giving what you can, when you can.
