My Subway Runs
A little boy notices everything on his and his mother’s morning commute in this bright picture book. He observes those who share the train’s space with them as well as the puddle at the subway station. His favorite part of the trip, though, is when the train car bursts from the tunnel, straight toward the bright sky. It’s enough to keep him dazzled until bedtime. The brief lines have a poetic lilt, and the illustrations run edge-to-edge with cheerful colors and captivating details, in this picture book that celebrates the wonders of public transportation.
