Debut Indie Authors Meet via Foreword, Compare Notes on Twitter

debuts

At Foreword Reviews, we’re all about introducing people to authors they’ve never heard of. Which is why we’re thrilled that the authors featured in our feature on debut authors in the Summer 2015 issue are doing a Tweet chat on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 1 pm EDT. You can follow along with the hashtag #DebutNovel.

The seven authors—Alli Marshall, James E. McTeer II, Caitlin Hicks, Jennifer Bort Yacovissi, Barbara Stark-Nemon, Jane Lythell, Raymond Barfield, and Nancy Boyarsky—didn’t know each other before the ForeSight was published. They connected by chance through a tweet we posted:

Great Debut Novels tweet

The rest, as they say, was history. Progressing from Twitter to e-mail, the group quickly learned they were scattered throughout the United States and the UK, which made a digital gettogether more feasible than, say, an in-person event at a trade show.

The group decided on a Tweet chat about being debut novelists and the challenges and pleasures of writing a first novel. They also plan to explore doing further chats on Google Hangouts and to hopefully meet up at a festival or writer’s conference. Be sure to follow them on Twitter: ‪@alli_marshall@ThatJMcTeer@CateHicks ‪@jbyacovissi@bstarknemon ‪@janelythell ‪@RaymondBarfield and @nancyboyarsky.
