She Is Uncompromising

A Christian Woman's Guide to Mastering Motherhood, Business, and Everything in Between

Clarion Rating: 5 out of 5

She Is Uncompromising is a practical guide to improving one’s daily life using faith-based principles.

Tatum Temia Ayomike’s faith-based self-help guide for women, She Is Uncompromising, is about embracing one’s calling and achieving success.

Though compromise can be constructive in some instances, Ayomike asserts that compromises also often hinder women when it comes to achieving their full potential. Her book emphasizes the need for obedience and devotion to God over high performance and busyness. It argues for the value of patience, for remaining committed to one’s vision, and for focus and intentionality too. Such terms are reintroduced through a biblical lens: here, “excellence” conforms to Hebrew roots and means one’s ability to acknowledge their inadequacy and allow God to help them.

In the course of its work, the book also challenges common beliefs, such as that women should try to find balance between their business and family lives (an idea it calls impractical). It advocates for recognizing that different responsibilities carry different levels of value to each person, and it dissects the superwoman complex that keeps women strained and unfulfilled. Such discussions are eye-opening and revelatory. Ayomike uses personal anecdotes to expound on these discussions: while talking about people-pleasing, she says that social expectations led her to look for outside employment instead of establishing her own business; in talking about forming business relationships with people who share similar values, she covers her decision to terminate a business relationship because of differing perspectives. Further, relevant biblical accounts about patience as a source of character-building, obedience, and faith are also included to amplify the book’s points: Elizabeth’s faithfulness and her belief that God would give her a child is covered, as is Daniel’s refusal to compromise his values and standards while in Babylon.

For clarity and ease of understanding, each of the book’s strategies is assigned its own chapter. Each chapter begins by defining its focal quality, then lists challenges that hinder it. Potential solutions to such challenges follow. The result is a detailed, step-by-step blueprint for personal success that grows from identifying one’s goals and priorities to establishing everyday routines and plans for achieving one’s goals, executing laid-out plans, and finding an accountability partner for continued success. This work ends with clear directions for implementing all of the previous advice in one’s own life.

She Is Uncompromising is a practical and candid guide that encourages women to discover their true identities and succeed in each facet of their lives.
