Homeopathy Rising
A Deep Introduction to Earth's Fastest Growing Medicine
Homeopathy Rising is a clear, convincing introduction to natural healing modalities.
S. Marjorie Ratliff’s passionate wellness guide Homeopathy Rising is about consciousness-raising via an alternative healing modality.
Addressing common questions about homeopathy, including those related to its value, history, and contrasts to allopathic medicine, the book asserts that homeopathy is a natural, effective, and safe alternative to conventional medicine. Supported by global statistics and a long list of famous practitioners, the book explains homeopathy’s uses in detail. Fundamental principles of the practice, including the law of similars, the principle of the direction of cure, provings (testing medicines on healthy people to gauge their effectiveness), and minimum dosing, are explained with clarity, as are the mechanics of classical homeopathy as differentiated from nontraditional modern uses, with a critical chapter devoted to the latter. Also considered are complementary topics like quantum physics research and the importance of finding a good homeopath.
In addition to its multifaceted case studies that reflect the complexities involved in finding successful homeopathic treatments, the book spends much time considering the potential results of people shaping their lives around homeopathic principles. Indeed, it speaks about returning lives to integrated wholeness at length, using homeopathic principles to inform their diets, moods, and life directions:
This is the natural order of healing: moving the disturbance outward, reclaiming health first in the most vital areas. In this way it can be released gradually, gently, and safely.
Related modalities like acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutrition are considered as well.
While its tone is passionate, the book engages in some repetition while promoting its mission. It veers somewhat off course when discussing society-wide problems, too, opining about the stranglehold that allopathic medicine has on people and overdependence on doctors and pharmaceuticals at the cost of connections to the healing bounty of nature. At times, it reads like a manifesto. It is at its most persuasive, though, when arguing that mainstream focus on alternative healing modalities could be beneficial.
The book’s careful debunking of “controversies” around homeopathy are compelling. It is also persuasive in acknowledging the limitations of homeopathy, noting that medical doctors are sometimes needed for the treatment of conditions like broken bones or serious diseases. Still, it encourages people to supplement all of their care with homeopathic methods, and it does so with conviction. Its wealth of information about homeopathy makes it a convincing introduction to natural healing modalities.
The New Age health and wellness guide Homeopathy Rising champions the value of classical homeopathy in the manner of an enthusiastic, approachable primer.
