Guan Yin

The Buddha's Helper

Guan Yin (aka Kwan Yin) is one of the most well-known and beloved saints of East Asia. She is the Buddha’s helper and appears in many sacred Buddhist texts, including the Lotus Sutra. Guan Yin uses her magic willow branch to sprinkle sweet dew and rescue people from distress. She helps people overcome fear, sadness, and pain. Guan Yin has different names in different countries, but she is the same merciful bodhisattva (enlightened being) who brings hope to all beings everywhere.
