Foreword Presents Library Insights Summit

Foreword Reviews is pleased to announce the inaugural Library Insights Summit (LIS), a day-long, pre-ALA event being held June 23, 2023 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.
This premier meetup offers a chance for publishers to hear directly from librarian innovators so that they might collaborate better, recast challenges as opportunities, and participate in a bright future for both North America’s libraries and book publishers.
“I am very honored to be asked to launch what I believe will be an impactful event to advance the common goals of authors, publishers, libraries and our customers, readers,” shares Sari Feldman, industry leader and keynote speaker for LIS.
In addition to keynotes by legendary Candlewick author Kate DiCamillo and Sari Feldman, past president of the American Library Association, the day’s programming will include sessions on how publishers can work better with librarian distributors, best practices for pitching books to libraries, maneuvering through the banned-book thicket, understanding diversity using the same lens as a librarian when it comes to collection development, and more.
Following LIS on Friday afternoon, ALA’s Opening General Session begins at 4pm, while the Exhibits Opening Reception starts at 5:30 and runs until 7pm. Attendees to LIS will have access passes to the exhibit hall during the entire ALA Annual Conference.
Registration opens February 15th at the American Library Association’s Annual Conference website. Registration fees are $199, with discounts for exhibitors and publisher membership organizations including IBPA, IPC, PUBWest, and ALA corporate members.
