Miles from Motown

It is 1967 and twelve-year-old Georgia wants to win the "Spirit of Detroit Poetry Contest," judged by her idol Gwendolyn Brooks. When she moves from Detroit to the suburbs Georgia thinks she might be disqualified. Feeling desperate she uses her aunt's address. Her older brother is in Vietnam, and her family is worried about when he'll make it home. Georgia tries to settle into her new life but misses her old life. She must find a way to intercept the contest results before anyone finds out.
