Get Reviewed by ForeWord
Book reviews are an important part of your marketing strategy, so ForeWord has three ways to bring your books to the attention of book lovers, librarians, and booksellers.
1. Get Reviewed in ForeWord Magazine. Send a galley or advanced review copy of your book to be considered for review in the pages of ForeWord. ForeWord Magazine is seen by 20,000 librarians, booksellers, publishing professionals, and people who love books.
Our editors need to see books 3-4 months before the publication date, so our readers can find out about the latest books as they become available. View our submission guidelines and our 2010 Editorial Calendar (PDF format) for more information.
Keep your eyes peeled for editorial calls. ForeWord’s feature stories cover upcoming books as well as recent releases from independent publishers on a variety of subjects.
2. Purchase a ForeWord Review for your Qualified Book. ForeWord receives many great books and our editors wish they could cover them all in the magazine. Because of space considerations, this just isn’t possible, and unfortunately, many of these books are received after their publication date or after our review pages are full.
If our editors believe your book is worthy of a ForeWord review but weren’t able to cover it in the magazine, they will list your title online, giving you the opportunity to have your book reviewed for $99. Your ForeWord review will have all the characteristics of the reviews in ForeWord Magazine. It will be featured on our Web site and licensed for publication in the top title information databases used by booksellers and librarians, Baker & Taylor’s TitleSource III, Ingram’s iPage, Bowker’s Books in Print, and Gale’s licensed databases.
3. Purchase a Clarion Review for Fee. If you are an author or publisher experiencing trouble getting your titles reviewed through traditional outlets, consider our fee-for-review service, Clarion. For $305, we will provide you with an objective review of your book, guaranteeing the same quality and word-length offered in the magazine.
With your permission, the review will also be archived with Bowker's Books-In-Print online, Baker & Taylor's Titlesource 3, and Ingram's iPage, Gale’s licensed databases, in addition to ForeWord’s Web site.
*** ForeWord’s editors are also available to critique galleys and finished books. Use the Clarion Preview service to find out how your book will compete in the market. ***
